[Open Doors’ Executive Director Michele] Conderino said the shelter’s kitchen offers three meals each day while their pantry is open five days a week. She said they’re preparing in case more families come to the pantry if they lose their SNAP assistance.
Conderino also said they’ve noticed a trend both locally and across the country of elderly people becoming homeless, which can be challenging for the existing service providers.
“Interventions aren’t the same,” she said.
Still, she was optimistic that the state was working well toward a goal of ending chronic family homelessness.
